Job description

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the payroll activities for assigned clients, including onboarding and offboarding, timecard management, payroll reconciliation, PTO tracking, 401(k) management, benefits enrollment and reconciliation, payroll tax research and all other activities related to payroll. The Payroll Specialist will own this process for up to approximately 20 clients.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Do the extras – provide clients with unexpected service

  • Become a Subject Matter Expert in Payroll and Human Resources

  • Implement new systems and procedures

  • Timecard Management

  • Payroll Processing

  • Benefit Management and Reconciliation

  • Onboarding and Offboarding

  • PTO Tracking

  • Reconciliations 

  • Payroll projects

Job requirements

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role.

  • Knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax laws.

  • Proficiency in varying technologies and MS Office, especially Excel.

  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
